Who can I contact to stop this nonsense?

HB1361 must be repealed !

While enough of us complained to get NAIS placed on hold till 2007 not enough of us took the time to complain to attract the attention of Governor Rick Perry to call HB 47 or HB 168 during the special session.

TAHC has won a decisive battle. TAHC is praying this whole issue will blow over till after the election. After the election TAHC knows that those few elected officials who might support NAIS will be free to support their grand plan. With all the flap that came out once people became aware of TAHC plan, there was no way ANY ONE was going to back TAHC.

We had the unique chance to kill NAIS in Texas during this past special session. This is an election year. the governor and other members of the Texas House and Senate are up for re-election, but they are off the hook for now.

TAHC has about a year to buy support for their sorry, intrusive, invasive program. They know that time is on their side, apathy will make them king. They get paid with your tax dollars so they wont forget.

=====================================================

WHAT CAN I DO?

Between now and next November ( the election) you best be hounding candidates for the governors office, state senate and state representatives about the repeal of HB 1361 and sunset of TAHC. You can make these election issues, all you have to do is start screaming.

We suggest that you do what we are doing. We are evaluating who we spend our money with. We are going to evaluate who we allow to teach our children. We are evaluating our industry memberships and magazine subscriptions. If a feed store is pro NAIS we will take our dollars elsewhere. We will not take our livestock to sale barns that support NAIS. We will not support any company or association that supports NAIS in any way. We will not patronize any meeting of any organization ie. Texas Corporative Extension Service. When they have close to zero attendance at such meetings maybe they will get the hint. Ask your vet this question. When or If NAIS is implemented; If I bring my unregistered animal in for care at your clinic are you going to report this sighting to TAHC or another agency? If so find another vet.

Call, ask questions and be heard.

Top on our boycott list:

Texas Farm Bureau

Farm Bureau Insurance

Cargil

Excel Meats ( Cargill)

Cargill Meat Solutions

ACCO Feeds (Cargill)

Nutrena Feeds (Cargill)

Monsanto

Allflex

American Horse Council

Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association

Texas Cattle Feeders Association

Texas A&M Corporative Extension Service

If you take the time to look you can find alternatives to these groups and others.

Ask yourself if a company, association or agency does not support my views why should I support them ?

If you have been following NAIS for any length of time you should know by now NAIS is about money. It is not about animal health. So cut off the money.
